Healing The Gut After Antibiotic Use

Did you know that 1 round of antibiotics can disrupt the gut for up to 4-5 years?

While antibiotic use can be incredibly necessary, it shouldn't be taken lightly as it alters the delicate balance of bacteria in the gut, often wiping out our good gut bacteria (along with the bad) and leading to gut dysbiosis.

Optimal gut health is important for immune function, hormone health, clear skin, energy, mood and so on!

Ways that you can support your gut both during & post antibiotic therapy include:
〰️ specific probiotic strains (speak to your Naturopath about a specific probiotic strain for you)
〰️ increasing your intake of pre & probiotic rich foods - think kefir, sauerkraut, kimchi, onion, garlic + Jerusalem artichoke
〰️ incorporate bone broth

〰️ consume stewed green apples (skin on!) for their prebiotic fibre content
〰️ reduce inflammatory foods such as sugar, gluten, dairy, caffeine & alcohol

There is so much that we can do to support the gut after (and during!) antibiotic use to avoid ongoing issues, so please reach out if your would like some gut support
