How To Beat Morning Sickness

Between 50-90% of pregnant women experience nausea (often not restricted to the morning) throughout pregnancy. Nausea is most common during the first trimester, however in some cases can persist throughout pregnancy.

Ways to manage nausea in pregnancy include:
〰️ eat something on waking. Keep some dry crackers or a container of trail mix on your bedside and consume before getting out of bed
〰️ consume small meals every 1-2 hours to stabilise blood sugar levels
〰️ stay hydrated! Sip on carbonated water, diluted coconut water or consider adding lemon or lime to water
〰️ sip on fresh ginger steeped in boiling water
〰️ food ideas: applewith nut butter, rice cracker & hummus, nuts & seeds, cold/frozen fresh fruit, miso soup & bone broth
〰️ under the guidance of a practitioner supplement with B6, which has been shown to alleviate nausea in pregnancy
〰️ rest where you can, as exhaustion can worsen nausea
〰️ try acupuncture for nausea relief
